The challenge

Food safety compliance depends on continuous temperature monitoring, yet many restaurants, hotels, and catering operations still rely on manual log sheets and periodic checks. Temperature excursions go undetected until it is too late, leading to spoiled inventory, regulatory fines, and health risks. Operators lack a unified, real-time view of temperature conditions across multiple locations and storage zones. FoodSafe addresses these gaps by enabling an IoT-native approach to temperature compliance monitoring.

The solution

FoodSafe combines precision temperature sensors with IoT edge controllers to deliver continuous cold-chain monitoring. Data is transmitted via secure protocols, ingested into a reliable backend, stored in PostgreSQL, and surfaced through a React/Next.js web dashboard and a dedicated mobile monitoring app. The system provides end-to-end coverage from embedded sensing through cloud ingestion, alerting, and field-user interaction, supporting multi-location deployments with a secure, scalable architecture that meets food safety regulatory requirements.
